Entomological collection

The Entomological Collection is composed by:

 

1-Collection of Bees:

a) euglossine bees collected with aromatic scents in traps;

b) bees collected with entomological net, manually, with Moerick traps, trap-nests (including their parasites), aromatic scents in traps, but not-euglossine bees;

2-Collection of wasps: wasps collected with entomological nets or trap-nest;

3- Collection of non-bee parasites:  flies collected in trap-nests - parasites of bee.

 

The specimens are from surveys carried out in Cerrado and montane grassland areas in the Espinhaço Range in Minas Gerais, more especifically at Parque Estadual do Rio Preto, Parque Estadual do Biribiri, Parque Nacional das Sempre Vivas, Campus JK-UFVJM and municipiality of Diamantina-MG. Some specimens were collected in Sertãozinho-SP and Campinas-SP.

 

The specimens are pinned (n=5336) or in alcohol (n=10) or in freezer at –20ºC (n=330)

 

Collection of Euglossina: Eufriesea (n=182), Euglossa (n=2526), Eulaema (n=487) e Exaerete (n=4).
